She is the director of the West Coast Resiliency Centre, an interdisciplinary clinic providing evidence-based treatment for individuals struggling with the repercussions of psychological trauma. As a clinician, she has received extensive training in cognitive-behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and motivational interviewing, and provides treatment for individuals suffering from anxiety, mood, stress- and trauma-related difficulties. She has a special interest in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has extensive training in various evidence-based PTSD treatment protocols including therapies involving exposure and emotional processing as well as EMDR. As a researcher, she has focused on women’s mental health and substance use behaviours, the correlates of trauma with psychological functioning, post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorder comorbidity, the effects of integrated trauma-informed interventions, and psychological aspects of tobacco dependence.
