Agnes Y Y Lee

SCIENTIST, MD, MSC

Dr. Lee is a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is the Medical Director of the Thrombosis Program for Vancouver Coastal Health. Her primary research interest is in cancer-associated thrombosis.

Research Interests

  • Cancer-associated thrombosis

Dr. Lee earned her Doctorate of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at UBC. She obtained her training in Hematology and Thrombosis and earned her Masters of Science in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University.

Recognized worldwide as a leader in cancer and thrombosis, her work in the management of cancer-associated thrombosis has been published in high-impact journals and influenced the standard of care. She has participated in clinical practice guideline and guidance committees for cancer-associated thrombosis, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Subcommittee on Hemostasis & Malignancy of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. She serves on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards at the National Institutes of Health and is member of the Guideline and Protocols Advisory Committee for Doctors of BC.
