A number of CHÉOS Scientists shared their recent research findings at the 2017 Canadian Rheumatology Association Scientific Meeting and Arthritis Health Professions Association Annual Meeting. The meeting was held from February 8 to 11, 2017, in Ottawa.

Dr. Linda Li was an author on an oral abstract presented during the conference. The collaboration between researchers from Arthritis Research Canada and the University of British Columbia explored the experience of patient engagement in research from arthritis patients’ perspectives. In doing so, the research aimed to understand the factors that impact patient engagement, both negative and positive. Their findings will be valuable in the development of evidence-based resources for patients and researchers to achieve meaningful patient engagement.

Dr. Li also contributed to five poster presentations including a collaboration with CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Nick Bansback. Dr. Bansback also co-authored a poster presentation with CHÉOS Scientist Dr.Mark Harrison. Dr. Kamran Shojania contributed to two poster presentations and Dr. Larry Lynd was involved in another.

All posters and abstracts will be published in The Journal of Rheumatology in June or July of 2017. For more information about the meeting, see https://rheum.ca/en.
