Dr. Devin Harris is a Staff Emergency Physician at Kelowna General Hospital. He completed medical school at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 1998 and an Emergency Medicine residency (also at UBC) in 2001. He was Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Paul’s Hospital from 2001 to 2003 and completed a Master of Health Science in 2003 through UBC’s School of Population and Public Health. Currently, he is the Associate Research Director for Interior Health Authority, and is a Staff Emergency Physician at Kelowna General Hospital.
Dr. Harris’ primary research interest is the provision of medical care to patients with stroke and transient ischemic attack, across the continuum. He is Medical Advisor for Stroke Services B.C. (PHSA). He has been involved in numerous quality improvement and evaluation projects focused on transient ischemic attack (TIA) and stroke at provincial and national levels. He received the UBC Faculty of Medicine Innovation in CME/CPD 2013 Award for this work.
As a Staff Emergency Physician, Dr. Harris is active in teaching medical students and residents in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kelowna General Hospital.
