Dr. Adeera Levin wins LifeSciences BC award

CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Adeera Levin has received the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research – Aubrey J. Tingle Prize from LifeSciences BC.

The award is one of nine bestowed upon individuals and companies who have made a significant contribution to research and excellence in B.C.’s life sciences industry.

Dr. Levin is a Professor in the Division of Nephrology at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine, the Executive Director of the B.C. Renal Agency, and a consultant nephrologist at Providence Health Care. Her major research areas of interest include non-traditional risk factors for cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients (with a particular focus on anemia, phosphate and vitamin D, and progression of CKD variability), as well as models of care. She has over 260 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, and has co-edited a textbook on CKD.

Dr. Levin and the other recipients of the 17th Annual LifeSciences BC Awards will be recognized at a special event on April 16 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Purchase tickets online at Eventbrite.
