By July 9, 2014 Award, News No Comments

CHÉOS Scientists have achieved great success in recent award competitions, receiving funding and recognition for their work.

On behalf of CHÉOS, we would like to congratulate our Scientists Drs. Sean Barbour, Jagbir Gill and Martha Mackay, who have received 2014 Scholar Awards from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research in the Health Services research pillar.

32 award recipients were selected from a pool of 120 applicants to receive funding for a maximum term of five years. The awards enable recipients to focus on research activities, attract additional funding, train the next generation of investigators and generate high-quality knowledge economy jobs.

Sean Barbour: “Integrating knowledge generation and translation: A unique research program to study the population-level clinical outcomes, health utilization and health services delivery for patients with glomerulonephritis in BC.”

Jagbir Gill: “Addressing disparities in access to living donor kidney transplantation in South and East Asian Canadians.”
