CHÉOS staff member receives a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal

Judy Chiu, Research and Program Assistant for CHÉOS Pharmacoeconomics Program, received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on October 31 for her service with the St. John Ambulance Brigade, B.C. and Yukon.

The Governor General’s Office selected Chiu as one of five recipients of the Medal from St. John Ambulance. She was recognized for her 13 years of dedication and commitment as a volunteer for the St. John Youth Program.

“I have been with St. John Ambulance for over half my life, and it has helped shape me into the individual I am today,” Chiu said. “I have a strong belief that the young people in our society today are the future leaders of tomorrow.”

Chiu received her medal during a ceremony in Ottawa on Wednesday.

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a commemorative award established to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne. For more information on the award, visit the Governor General’s website.
